Terms of Service
Plain language, no traps. These terms apply to every hosting plan ordered on shadownodehosting.com.
1. Scope and provider
These terms apply to all contracts for web hosting between you and the operator of ShadowNode ("we"), reachable at [email protected]. Our offer is aimed at consumers and businesses. Different terms of yours only apply if we agree to them in writing.
2. The service
We provide shared web hosting with the resources listed for your plan: storage, number of websites, databases, SFTP access and SSL certificates. The servers are located in Germany. We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service; planned maintenance is announced in advance where possible.
3. Your account
To order you need an account, which consists of an email address and a password. You must confirm the email address with a code we send to it. You don't have to give your name, and the address doesn't need to contain it, but it must be one you can receive mail at: we send login codes, payment confirmations and notices about your hosting there. You are responsible for keeping your login safe.
4. How the contract is made
The plans on our website are not yet a binding offer. When you click "Buy now" on the order page, you make a binding offer to enter a contract for the plan and billing period shown in the summary. We accept your offer when we confirm your payment by email; at that moment the contract is concluded. If no payment arrives, the offer lapses and no contract is formed. The contract language is English. We store the contract details; you can see your orders in your account at any time.
5. Prices and payment
All prices are in euro. They are final prices. You pay in advance for the chosen billing period (3, 6 or 12 months) in cryptocurrency, on one of the networks offered on the order page.
- Exact amount. When you order, we show an exact crypto amount and a receiving address. The amount is calculated from the euro price at the current exchange rate and made unique to your order by the last digits. It is locked for 45 minutes. Please send exactly this amount, on exactly the network shown.
- Network fees of the blockchain are paid by you, on top of the amount. If you pay from an exchange, make sure its withdrawal fee is not deducted from the amount.
- Late payments. If the exact amount arrives after the 45 minutes, we still assign it to your order for up to 24 hours at the locked amount.
- Paying less. If you send less than the amount shown, you get the same share of the billing period: half the amount buys half the days, and so on (at least one day). We confirm the shortened period by email. Payments below 20 % of the amount, or payments we cannot clearly assign to one order, are handled by hand: write to us with your order number and transaction ID.
- Paying more. If you send more than the amount shown, you get the full period. Write to us if you want the difference back; we refund it minus the network fee.
- Wrong network or coin. Coins sent on a network or as a token we don't offer for that order may be lost permanently. We will try to help, but cannot guarantee recovery.
Your plan starts as soon as the payment is confirmed on the blockchain. So you don't have to wait, we give you access to your hosting as soon as we see your transaction on the network, before it is confirmed. If the transaction then fails or is replaced, this early access ends: a new hosting is paused, and a renewal falls back to the previous end date. There is no automatic renewal. Before your plan expires, you can pay for another period. You can upgrade at any time; the remaining value of your current period is credited.
6. Usage rules
We don't ask who you are, but we do act on abuse. The following is not allowed on our servers:
- malware, phishing, and anything designed to attack other systems,
- spam and unsolicited mass email,
- child sexual abuse material, which is removed and reported to the authorities,
- content that is illegal under German law, or that infringes the rights of others,
- crypto mining, proxies or VPN endpoints, and anything else that overloads shared resources.
If we receive a credible report or detect a violation, we can suspend the affected website immediately and tell you by email. For serious or repeated violations we may terminate the contract without notice. In that case you have no claim to a refund for the remaining period, unless the law requires otherwise.
7. Fair use
Shared hosting means sharing CPU, memory and bandwidth with other customers. If your site uses far more than a normal site of its plan and slows down others, we will contact you and may limit it until the cause is fixed or you move to a bigger plan.
8. Backups
We take regular backups of our servers for disaster recovery. They are not a replacement for your own backups. Keep a copy of your files.
9. End of service
The contract ends automatically when the paid period runs out; no notice is needed. Your websites then go offline. Your files and databases are kept for 14 more days, so you can still renew, and are then permanently deleted.
10. Liability
We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are only liable for breach of essential contractual obligations, limited to the damage typical for this kind of contract. Liability under the German Product Liability Act is not affected.
11. Right of withdrawal for consumers
If you are a consumer (§ 13 BGB), you have the following right of withdrawal.

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after fourteen days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (ShadowNode, email: [email protected]) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (for example a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement. Since you paid in cryptocurrency, we refund in the same cryptocurrency on the same network to an address you name; the amount refunded is the euro value of your payment at the time it was made.
If you requested to begin the performance of services during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been provided until you have communicated us your withdrawal from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.
End of the withdrawal notice
Early expiry
Your right of withdrawal expires early once we have fully provided the service, if you expressly agreed before ordering that we start before the end of the withdrawal period and acknowledged that you lose your right of withdrawal on full performance (§ 356 (4) BGB). We ask for this consent with a checkbox on the order page, because we start your hosting right after payment. We confirm the consent in the payment confirmation email.

You don't need to give us your real name or postal address to withdraw: your order number and the email address of your account are enough for us to identify the contract.
12. Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice of law does not remove protection granted by the mandatory law of their country of residence. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If a clause is invalid, the rest of these terms remains valid.
