ShadowNode SHADOWNODE

Guides / Encrypted cloud

Your encrypted cloud drive

AES-256 at rest, optional true end-to-end encryption, and it speaks every sync protocol. Here’s how to open it and lock it down.

1 Step 1

Welcome

Your encrypted cloud is ready in moments. This guide opens it, syncs your devices and turns on zero-knowledge encryption.

2 Step 2

Open your cloud

Your drive lives in the browser — same login as your ShadowNode account. Drag & drop files right away, or set up automatic sync in the next step.

Sync every device
3 Step 3

Sync every device

Pick your favourite: the Desktop app (Win/Mac/Linux folder sync like Dropbox), Mobile (iOS/Android with auto photo upload), WebDAV (mount as a network drive), or S3 / rclone for backups and scripts.

Lock it down
4 Step 4

Lock it down

Everything is already AES-256 encrypted at rest. For true zero-knowledge, turn on end-to-end encryption: install the app, go to Settings → Security → End-to-end encryption, generate your key, and mark folders as encrypted.

Write down the 12 recovery words! E2EE means only you hold the key — nobody, including us, can recover the data without it.

5 Step 5

You’re all set

Manage storage, upgrades and sharing from your console — log in anytime with your ShadowNode account.

Troubleshooting

Can’t enable E2EE in the browser
End-to-end encryption needs a desktop or mobile client app — the browser can’t do it.
Lost my E2EE recovery words
They cannot be recovered by design. Without them, encrypted folders stay locked. Keep them somewhere safe.
Which sync method should I use
Desktop app for a synced folder, WebDAV to mount as a drive, mobile app for photo backup.
